The Bellamy, London

Embrace Architects have been commissioned by Mount Anvil to Design the Interiors for all the private apartments , concierge and residents facilities including a peleton studio, resident’s lounge, screening room and workspace in their new 31 storey regeneration project in the Isle of Dogs, London E14. The interior inspiration came from the site. The Geography of the River Thames and the way it loops around the isle has influenced a rich history of windmills, marsh lands and maritime industries. The historical slipways, many of which still exist today showcase the rich natural materials evident throughout the Isle’s timeline. The rich earthy colours found in the Thames gravel, the river clay, sand and rich terracotta alluvial soil have all influenced the palette of materials and formed the concept for the interior design for the apartments. The tactile, knurled finishes of the taps and brassware and the fluted textures evident in the kitchen, bathroom and wardrobe joinery reflect the industrial heritage of the galvanised rope factories, flour mills and silo’s. The resulting apartments and resident’s facilities are light, calm, reflective and enhanced by nature.
